In schools
Working alongside local schools, supporting young people through the school day and the years that shape them.
Youth work in Tavistock, Devon
Somewhere to be, and someone in your corner.
We connect church resources with young people, working with schools and the local community in Tavistock and the surrounding area — encouraging and equipping young people to live full and rewarding lives.
We turn up where young people already are.
Catalyst is a youth team serving Tavistock and the villages around it — in school, after school, and in the spaces in between.
In the community
Groups, activities and proper time together — crafts and games, pool and pizza, days out and the river when the weather allows.
Behind it all
Local churches, pooling their people and resources so that there is something steady here for the young people of Tavistock.
The people who turn up.
Catalyst employs qualified youth workers — the same faces, week after week, which is most of what makes the work do any good.

“I joined Catalyst in September 2017, and it has been a blessing each day to meet, journey with, and support young people. What I enjoy most about the job is seeing young people grow and develop their skills.”

“Hi everyone, I’m Ali. I joined the team in September 2025, and I can’t wait to meet everyone and to help with all the youth work that takes place in the school and in the community.”
